Direct Fired Heater

Direct fired heaters can be configured in many different ways depending on your specific requirements. Due to the flexibility in design, our engineering and logistics teams can design and commission virtually any style of direct fired heater in single or multi-burner configurations.

What kinds of direct fired heater systems does Sigma Thermal offer?

Radiant convective direct fired heaters

This is the most commonly used style of direct fired heater for heavy industrial uses. These heaters utilize a bare tube radiant zone in combination with a bare or finned convection section. They can be utilized with thermal fluids, viscous hydrocarbons, suspended solids or gas mixtures. They can also exceed 90% base efficiency and operated fully automatically.

Convection direct fired heater

Sigma Thermal’s convection style direct fired heater utilizes a separate combustion chamber and flue gas recirculation to reduce combustion chamber temperatures to minimize the impact of radiant heat transfer to the process coil. It can be utilized with hydrocarbons, suspended solids, thermal fluids, or a mixture of gases. Paired with an optional economizer, the base efficiency of this design can reach 93%.

Complete System Automation & Process Control

Sigma Thermal offers complete control systems  engineering, integration and programming for your direct fired heater. This includes, but is not limited to, the oil & gas industry, water & waste water industry, and process heating industry. Our engineers provide cost effect and innovative solutions to complex manufacturing control issues.

Direct fired heater parts, even for models we don’t produce

We can replace parts and troubleshoot your direct fired heater, even if we didn't design, build or install it on your work site. Just submit an RFQ and we will help you find the nearest Sigma representative in your area or we can direct you to an expert in-house engineer that is ready to help.
